Essence Lipstick in 08 Colour Crush - First Impressions

For a fair while now, I have owned a fair few Essence lipsticks, and I love them.
I love the packaging of these little guys.
They aren't big and bulky like other traditional lipsticks, and I love the print on the lipstick.
The tubes are very simple, and the sticker on the bottom is just your traditional lipstick sticker.

The lipstick is very creamy, so far so good.
I find the pigmentation to be slightly lacking, which I find great for daily wear.
Especially with a pink like this. It isn't an in your face pink.
These are around $4-$5 AUD in Priceline Australia, which is a very good price point in Australia.

The lipstick doesn't make my lips show it's dry side something chronic, although I have noticed that when paired with a lip liner it does.
So far I am very satisfied. The colour isn't a normal colour I would choose. I am not a huge fan of pink lipsticks. I more so love my nudes and purples. But I am very happy with this shade!

Once again, thanks for reading guys :)

Tutorial - Brown Eye and Pink Lip

I love a nice brown eye more than anything!
And I now I have a new way that I do this beautiful look.
Also to clear this up, I have had very horrible skin lately, and I do not like heavy Foundations as it makes the issue worse in my personal case, so these problems will still be slightly visible through my Foundation.

1
I first used a concealer over my lids and under the eyes. I used a slightly lighter tone than my skin to highlight under the eye, which was also pink based to help cancel out my bags under my eyes. I did not set this with powder as I will be using a cream product on my lids.

2
Then I filled in my brows. I always do this step before my shadow to frame my eyes.

3
Then I used a Maybelline Color Tattoo in 25 Bad to the Bronze as a base all over my lids. I have applied this roughly as it will be blended later in the process.

4
I have now contoured through the crease of my eye, I used MAC Espresso eye shadow for this.

5
To set the lid and add more of a pop of colour, I used a brown pigment over the lids

6
I then applied my Mascara lightly for a more natural lash. Just used what you are more comfortable with, but I used Maybelline Define a Lash Mascara.

7
I then highlighted roughly on the top of my cheeks and the apples of my cheeks. I was only rough with this as I use cream highlighter under my foundation. I used the Australis Highlights in Pearl.

8
I have now applied my foundation. I stippled my foundation on for a more flawless finish.

9
I then set my foundation with my Kett Cosmetics Translucent Powder

10
I have now used my Face of Australia Contour & Highlight Kit in Glamazon to Contour below my cheeks, and add a bit more Highlight to my cheeks, cupids bow and nose. I have also contoured down the sides of my nose.

11
I have also used a nice coral coloured blush on my cheeks

12
To finish off, I have used my Essence Lipstick in 08 Colour Crush to add a nice pop of pink. I normally don't wear pink lipsticks but have quite enjoyed this lipstick.

I hope you have enjoyed this look.
Would you wear something similar or the same?

Maybelline Colour Tattoo's xx

Yesterday I picked up the Maybelline Color Tattoo's.
I got the colours 20 Painted Purple, 25 Bad to the Bronze and 40 Tenacious Teal.

When purchasing in store, I was really disappointed with my local Priceline.
All the swatches had dried up, and because of that, I purchase because of colours that "looked nice" and I will explain why in a minute, why I was disappointed.

I love the packaging kind of. I have found a lot of the packaging labels were very off center, more so the ones on the bottom, which I did not take a photo of, oops. This is really due to mass production. I hate it though, as a blogger, products I love and blog about, I want to showcase them at their best. No biggy, but I do love they fact they are glass pots.

I love these a fair bit as eye shadow bases or just alone. Once it's on, it's set and doesn't budge.
Yesterday, I walked down the street with it, and with the minor sweat, no budging. Even removal with eye makeup remover was a bit hard to make it budge.

I was really really happy with my brown and blue colour, BUT I wish I had the chance to swatch the purple in real life properly. I love the shimmery-ness in these, which is half the reason I got them. I will be using them as a lid colour.
In the pot, it looked like a gorgeous deep purple. When I got home, It was nothing like it.
I had almost no shimmer like the blue and brown, and I actually found the purple to be a bit patchy during application. It was nothing like the other two.

You may not be able to tell in these photo's but in the pot it looks to be a nice deep phantom purple. Once I swatch or use it, it goes almost to a lavender colour. I have also noticed that it loves the little lines in the skin, and I had to layer it to get a good colour.

I will see how I go with this product a bit further down the track.
If it doesn't improve within the next couple days I will be returning this product.
In my full review, I will post how I have gone with this certain colour and whether I have returned it or not.

Face of Australia Duo's in Minx and Leopardess

If you follow me on Instagram, then you would of seen that a couple days ago I brought these Face of Australia Duo's for $9.95 each from Priceline. I got suckered in by the packaging. Now I wish I hadn't.
I was looking more for Retail Blushes and Contours as I really don't own many from Retail lines.
I have like one Revlon Blush, and an Australis and Revlon Highlighter. That's it.
When I seen these, I loved the packaging, and the colours looked great in the pan.
The pink one, was a pink I wouldn't normally choose, and I brought the contour as I normally just don't contour but I want to start trying it again.

Minx

Blush and Highlight Kit

Out of the two, I am really disappointed in this duo.
Personally, with my skin colour, there isn't much colour pay off.
I was really not happy. The formulation is great, it is very smooth, and doesn't smell weird or overly potent, but I am extremely not happy about the colour.
I think this one would be better with fairer skin tones. Not tan or dark.

Leopardess

Contour and Highlight Kit

Leopardess is a lot better than Minx.
Not overly pigmentented but a lot better than the blush and highlight duo.
This is perfect for the beginner who is learning contour or just for a light contour.
With the highlight, I love it! The highlight in Leopardess almost compensates for the lack of pigmentation in both of the duo's. So smooth in application, and reflects light very well. I am really happy with the Leopardess Duo.

Once again, thank-you for reading everyone, and have a good day!
