Models Prefer Brow Highlighter

Brow Highlighter

The Models Prefer Brow Highlighter is a very recent addition to my make-up collection.
I bought this mainly because I needed something that was a bit easier to cart around than a white Eye Shadow. I've had a lot of trouble with eyeshadows, pressed powders etc. smashing in my handbag or school bag, or even when I accidentally drop them on the tiles in the bathroom.

The pencil is a thick pencil, so I'm having a bit of trouble finding a sharpener to fit it :(
But I will hopefully just buy one of the net to fit it :)
The pencil is a nice soft pastel pink outside, so it's a very girly colour :)

As you can see above, the colour of the pencil is a white, but it also has a pink peralized undertone to it,   so it does come up looking a bit like a peal colour or the inside of a sea shell.
When purchasing this, I wanted a bit more of a white colour, and for the result to not be soo clumpy.
Because the pencil in so soft it does tend to clump a bit.

I'm not 100% happy, but I'm not exactly disappointed either.
I will continue to use this, but only when desperate!
8 1/2 out of 10 from me! :) x

Nature's Care Paw Paw Balm

This is another new addition to my collection!
I was out shopping with the bestie Rhychelle, and I had a bit of dry lip syndrome, so I grabbed this to help sooth a bit of the irritation of dry split lips.

AT first after I purchased this, I had a bit of a WTF moment, because when I first used it there were little lumps in the formula. But then I read the back and realized that the formula will clump when it's cold. And being typical Hamilton, it was a freezing cold day!! haha.

So I did what the instructions said and rubbed a bit of it between my fingers and it was as good as new again :) It soothed my lips well, and protected them from the icy cold wind. The bestie was even pinching some off me on the icy cold walk back to school.

I don't think I will buy this again though. It's not as great of a formula as some other Paw Paw brands that I have previously bought. But for now it will do I suppose. :)
9/10 from me :) x

Manicare Mascara Wands x

It's only recently that Mascara wands have become available commercially.
They are an essential to any make-up artists kit.
The Disposable Mascara Wands were created due to the bacteria that can be transferred between people from shared mascara tubes. They can cause all sorts of eye infections from sharing.

I recently brought these Manicare Wands as I was doing make-up for the production and a few of the girls didn't actually own mascara.

I found that these specific wands worked well for disposables. Although their was a bit of clumping, the product is ideal for one time use though.
It is perfect for those girls nights in when one girl just happens to forget her mascara!
In terms of mascara's, sharing isn't caring!

Although, If I was to receive this particular wand in a tube, I would be fairly disappointed. They are only good for one time use!

In the pack, I received two types of wands.
The top (orange) is to fill out all of the lashes. Giving definition and shape.
The bottom (purple) is to get in all those tricky places, like the inner corner lashes. x

Gorgeous Cosmetics's Lip Pencils x

There is nothing more that I love than lip pencils!
They have so many functions. Use as a base for a gloss creating a nice soft day time lip, to create a nice neat line around the lips, and also as a base for lipsticks!

I got these two lip liners as part of a David Jones Gift Bag from Grandma for Chrissy.
I have generally been impressed with the Gorgeous range, but I wasn't entirely as happy with these pencils. I found that they were very stiff and hard to work with. I had even warmed the pencil a bit with the tips of my fingers, but still it was a very hard pencil.

I also found that this pencil is very hard to sharpen. The wood surrounding the colour is also very tough, which resulted in a hard to sharpen pencil. If you look close enough at the top picture, you can even notice the ridges from where the pencil has snapped during sharpening.

I probably wont be buying this brand of pencil again, unless something changes within their pencil range.

A Little Bit About Myself ! xx

Over the past couple of days, I have been flooded with emails, and inbox's asking about me.
Then I realized that I have been blogging for a fair while but haven't really explained much about myself! I suppose it really is all about the make-up ! haha
So I have extracted a few of the frequently asked questions and I'm going to answer them for you! :) x

Name:
Emma Sparrow

Age:
Seventeen, 17. :)

Occupation:
Well at the moment I'm just a student, almost finished my year.12. I'm also studying Make-Up Artistry and will hopefully be continuing with my studies next year or the year after.

Qualifications:
Well at this current point in time, I have no completed qualifications as I'm only training, but I am near completion of my Certificate II.

Favorite Brand Of Cosmetics:
That is such a difficult question. It's a toss up between 4different brands. I love Napoleon Perdis, MAC, Paintbox and BH Cosmetics.

Fave Tip:
My Fave tip would probably just be a simple one that I have told absolutely all of my girlfriends a million times! ALWAYS put your concealer on AFTER your foundation. Foundation itself can hide about 80% of your imperfections. Personally I think they only do it because they think they are ugly, when their not !! :)

Fave Look:
My fave look, hmm. Such a difficult question!
I think that mainly I love the very strong eyebrow look. It's actually a very common look currently within party make-up. It's been highlighted as the trend as Burlesque styles have become quite popular again.

Another Blog I Love:
Well another blog that I love in the Jessi in Wonderland Blog.
I'm always watching her. She is so gorgeous, and I have learnt a lot of small tips from her. Ones that I didn't even know about, like how to use Bobby Pins properly!
Visit her blog at: www.jessiswonderland.com

Best Friend:
My best friend is Rhychelle. We both enjoy make-up, and get a lot of joy from it. We are constantly sending each other photo's asking for opinions. We have been through a lot together. But no matter what, I think we will always be besties. Even when we hate each others guts.

So here are a few photo's that you may like:

The Battle of the Mascara's x

All of the mascaras!

Over the past few months I seemed to have accumulated a fair few Mascara's, some are really good and some are just downright horrible. So today I thought that I would share all of the best of the best, and the worst of the worst with you. Then the next time you go shopping you know what is something you should try, and some of the things you should steer clear of. and I mean literally steer clear of.
So lets work from left to right! :) x

The first one off the bat, is the Designer Brands Beyond Amplifying Mascara!
This is seriously one of the best mascara's I have used in my life.
The comb brush reached all of the lashes, and is so easy to get to the base of the lash!
It gives length and volume. and all lashes look even.
This one is a sample, which I had to use for this as it seems I have lost the good one that I have bought off the net. As far as I'm aware, this mascara is only available online. So Google search "Designer Brands Cosmetics" and their webpage should pop up! The other thing I adore about this, is the price. It is so cheap! Oh and before I forget to mention, you know how when you take mascara off and you get the panda eye look? Well.. THIS DOESN'T DO THAT! how awesome? when you take it off, it just comes off in little black tube. As I said, my favorite mascara!

This is one of the utmost worst mascara's I have every used in my life!
I know you will probably read this and think that I'm joking, but I'm really not!
This was one of my impulse buys. I wanted a mascara that didn't have the normal matte exterior. So yes, I bought it because it was shiny! Major regret!
I found that the design of the brush, did yes give me curve, but it clumped all of my lashes and I evened up with 4 very thick eyelashes! I was not happy, but oh well, my ex paid for it, so it's no major loss to me! haha.

This is surprising a really good mascara!
I got so much volume in my lashes, and they didn't clump together! I got it for roughly $10 bucks when it was on sale, so I was extremely happy. It is now an everyday item in my make-up bag :)
I love the fact that the tube is yellow with purple writing.
And I was really surprised at the way the wand worked on my lashes and I tend to opt more for comb wands. :)

SO I received this mascara as part of my TAFE kit. I'm not a big of the wand as I can't seem to get nice thick lashes without clumping. Unlike my friend Rhychelle who loves it, but that's only because She has LOTS of lashes, so it doesn't matter if it clumps a bit, because in the end she still has trillions of lashes! So I suppose this mascara in particular varies from person to person. I although do like that the bristles on the comb wand are shorter on one side and longer on the other. The big side for the top lashes and short side for the bottom lashes. It's an average mascara, not bad, but not perfect either.

I picked this mascara up from the throw out for roughly $3 a couple weeks ago. I'm not a huge fan as it isn't a comb wand. I like comb wands better as you have a little more control, especially when you're heavy handed like I am. I do although adore the curve of the wand, It makes it easier to get the lashes on the inner corner of the eye! Once again, it's another average mascara.

This mascara is a tester thing for the Model Co. Mascara.
I honestly wasn't satisfied with the product. Like I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't happy either.
I put this mascara in the draw for when I have a day when I can't find any of my other mascaras!

So that is the end of my Battle of the Mascara's! Hopefully this helps you out!

Miki Colour Me Beautiful Palette Review.

I only bought this about 3 weeks ago.
At first I wasn't the biggest fan as the colours weren't very pigmented, so I moved this palette onto everyday use as I like to still wear colours during the day, but not colours that are OTT.

It is a very nude palette, as most colours are pinks, blues and browns. The browns are amazing as they look so light and fluffy on the lid. My favorited shadow was actually the white. It had a lot of glitter, and it was a very strong white.

I use it mainly for the inner corners of my eyes, but I also use it below the outter third of my brown as a highlighter.

The pinks in the palette aren't very strong. It took me a lot of effort to get the colour to show, but I did love the blues. For a $15 buy, I was happy. Some colour I may not use, but what I get out of the ones I do use, is totally worth the $15 I spent.
