Subtle Smoky Eye xx

13:56

I love smoky eyes, but sometimes it just makes me look like a cake face if I am wearing a bold lip or I am wearing it during a nice sunny day.

On those types of occasions, I will opt for a subtle Smoky Eye. This look is actually quite easy to create and looks great with almost anything. Since it is now spring I have been straight back into my Coral Colours and Orange. Orange Lippy is a must for me in Spring :)

So here is how to achieve a subtle smoky eye:

My two main brushes for this look is a bullet and a flat brush.

So I don't like to wear eye primer. It just doesn't feel right to me and my makeup will tend to "slip" as I call it from the silicone in eye primer. I do use it sometimes but it isn't a staple in my cosmetics bag. Instead I will just use a concealer and a professional one by a brand named Kett. So above I have just applied that to my lids but just use whatever works best for you.

As we all know a cream or liquid must be set with a powder so I have just used a matte skin coloured eye shadow, and then highlighted with a matte white :) I prefer a matte white as apposed to a traditional shimmer. That'd just my preference as I am very tan most of the year through so a shimmer white gives me a weird look.
I have also filled in my brows. I just use an eyeshadow.

Then I have taken a dark grey liner with a bit of shimmer. Drawn it onto the back of my hand like a crayon, ran my straight eye brush through it, and applied it to the outer third of my upper and lower lid and smudged out with my dome brush.

Then all that's left is to come in with a foundation lightly (if you wear it) and face powder to set it. Then a nice coral blush and Orange lippy. And well, of course, mascara!

Hope you enjoyed my quick and easy spring look with a subtle twist on the smoky eye!
